Editorial Mar Caribe (EMC) is a private entity of a scientific, interdisciplinary and holistic nature, which edits and manages works frequently published continuously, whose main objective is to disseminate original and unpublished books that are the product of research, in all areas of knowledge, with emphasis on Latin American philosophical thought. To achieve this goal, each title is published in open access, which means that all content is available for free, for download and reading online, no Book Processing Charge (BPC) or Chapter Processing Charge (CPC) is charged to authors who, By submitting to the publisher, they agree to publish and distribute publicly in electronic format for academic, cultural, and non-commercial purposes*.
The publisher adheres to the CC BY-NC 4.0-Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International license, which allows non-commercial use of the book, if and only if, attribution is given to the creator. Readers, authors, and the general public may read, download, copy, distribute, print, disseminate, and link to the full text of the book for any other purpose, within the limits of the license. EMC makes available the databases available to access published trials, visit the Indexed section on our website.
Books hosted in the publisher’s own repository are distributed in scientific databases through metadata and multipurpose persistent identifiers recognized by The International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA), and are embedded in indexing systems with basic quality standards. In addition, EMC is committed to the digital preservation and deposit of content in institutional repositories, to expand the socialization of knowledge within the Latin American scientific community. The books are published under an open access model, free of embargo or membership charges, both to readers and authors, to contribute to reducing the digital divide between Ibero-American countries, based on the Berlin Declaration on Open Access to Knowledge in the Sciences and Humanities.
Institutional, financial and organizational support comes from non-governmental entities, through the system of voluntary donation or operating exchanges with publishing funds, libraries, business incubators, associations and research centers affiliated to public and private universities.
